Lucha Luz is a production company dedicated to social justice,
heritage preservation and cross-cultural understanding. We aim
to promote social awareness and social conscience through digital media.
In recent years, the “media” has been reinvented so as to give increased
voice to individuals and subjects previously ignored or underrepresented.
We believe that revolutions in digital video technologies and distribution
systems have created the opportunity for media to be a powerful force for
progressive change in the world.
Now, perhaps more than ever, it is easy to find truth in the oft quoted words of
Margaret Mead:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people
can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
This idea is forged in our name. We have chosen two simple words in
Spanish to represent our vision and the core of our beliefs, “lucha” and “luz“.
While “lucha” speaks to the “struggle” or “fight” that we hope to embody in our
daily actions, “luz” is the “light” that we are working towards, a symbol of a
brighter tomorrow.
Lucha Luz is committed to the creation, production, and distribution of
documentary projects that highlight the social, ethical, and moral aspects of
human potential and human diversity. It is through understanding the other
that we can better understand ourselves. We strive to create projects that are
both engaging and transformative. We hope that the struggle to do so will
lead us towards a better future for all.
