Lucha Luz was founded by husband and wife team Kevin and Jenny Bartoy
in 2006 in Berkeley, California, with the hopes of contributing something
worthwhile to the world.  We are now located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kevin Bartoy

Editor, documentarian, award winning filmmaker,
amateur gardener.  Rob was born and raised in San
Antonio, Texas.  He holds a B.A. in History as well as a  
B.A. in Film Production from the University of Texas at
Austin.  Rob has lived in both New York and Los
Angeles, editing and producing a variety of nationally
televised programs.  Over the past 2 seasons, Rob’s
shows have garnered 5 Emmy nominations and 3 Emmy awards.  He has
traveled to the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the
Netherlands, Mexico, many spots in the Caribbean, as well as throughout
the United States.

Shane Lubojacky

Project manager, producer and amateur anthropologist
with a background in film production, documentary
studies and marketing/communications. Jenny was
born in Thibodaux, Lousiana but then grew up in the
north of France and ended up in Austin, Texas.  She
has a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from U.T. Austin,
and a M.A. in Social-Cultural Anthropology from
Columbia, NY.  In 2004, she founded Plume Productions to provide small
and ethical businesses with marketing and communications services.  She
has traveled to most of Europe, Mexico and a lot of the United States.  Lucha
Luz is her dream project come true.

Rob Krisch

Archaeologist, historic preservationist, amateur chef
and avid photographer.  Kevin was born and raised in
Tacoma, Washington.  He holds a B.A. in History from
U. of Oregon, a M.A. in Anthropology from William &
Mary, and a Ph.C. in Anthropology from U.C. Berkeley.  
He has traveled to Italy, France, Bermuda, Turkey, the
Balkans, Mexico and all over the United States. He has
published numerous articles on history and archaeology in academic and
popular journals and monographs.  He is a co-editor and contributor to the
new edited volume on methods and methodology in international historical
archaeology,
Between Dirt & Discussion.

Jenny Bartoy

Responsible Tourism expert, researcher and
communication assistant for Lucha Luz.  Born and
raised in France, Clarisse is newly graduated from
IESEG, French school of management, with a M.S. in
Marketing.  She wrote her Master thesis about
responsible tourism, after living in India for 6 months
while working for a Tour Operator in Delhi.  She has
traveled to Lebanon, Egypt, Senegal, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia,
India, Canada, the United States and most of Western Europe.  Clarisse’s
professional interests are in the tourism industry and societal marketing,
which focuses on how marketing practices can impact societies’ well-
being.  She plans to lead a literacy mission in South America in 2007.


POLYNESIA (American Samoa)

Erika Radewagen

Anthropologist, archaeologist and South Pacific cultural expert.  Erika was
born in Washington D.C. and raised in Alexandria, VA.  She holds a B.A. in
Anthropology from Northwestern University, as well as a M.A. and Ph.C. in
Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.  Erika has traveled
throughout the United States and the Pacific, working on cultural heritage
preservation issues.  She currently resides in American Samoa where she
is compiling the prehistory of the Samoan Islands and running her cultural
resource management firm, South Pacific Archaeological Consulting
Services.

Editor, story producer/writer, award-nominated
filmmaker and aspiring octogenarian    Shane was born
and raised in deep East Texas.  He holds a B.S. in
Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas-
Austin.  Having worked in Los Angeles for over 8 years
as an editor/producer, Shane’s past clients include:  
MTV, VH1, E!, Style Network, TV Guide Channel, TBS
and NBC.  He has traveled to the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the
Netherlands,  Mexico and  extensively throughout the United States.   Lucha
Luz and the number ‘80’ are both very dear to him.
